the KLX engine is often called. But why is that and is it true?
The basic design
of the current 250/300 engines goes back to the 90´s. In 1993 this engine was installed for the first time in the KLX 250 D and since then it has been revised and further developed again and again. In 2008 for the first time also with electronic fuel injection and only with electric starter, the kickstart was removed.
Compare the performance
data over the complete manufacturing period of the engine, which was specified with up to 32hp (KLX 250 D), one can well understand that the current configuration with approx. 22hp may be called robust and durable with appropriate service and maintenance.
Perfectly suited for beginners
and for experienced easy going, you can definitely tackle it briskly and fluidly with it. Only on highways it may be a little too little power, but for this the KLX is not necessarily intended.
