For a good comparison on this niche motorcycle league, I have to sort out a couple of things before.
The most important is the dry weight.
These days a lot of bikes want to play in this segment, but for me, there are only a couple I can count here.
So many are to heavy.
A lightweight offroad adventure bike needs to be light – more than 150kg without fuel is not acceptable.
Long service interval.
That means to me at least 10000km before an oil change is needed.
Fuel tank size.
A serious adv. motorcycle should have a minimum of 12L.
21”/18”
spoke wheels is a must have.
Suspension:
If an offroad motorcycle has less than 200mm suspension travel, it´s not an offroad adventure bike in my opinion,
and finally a windshield and something like a tower has to be part on an adventure motorcycle.
In the list you still find motorcycles that are way out of my criteria, but as they often get called lightweight adv. bikes, I listed for comparison. Further not all are available new any more, or they will come to market in 2024.
Sorted by weight only - there are 9 to choose, 3 of these you have to build yourself. If you sort by fuel capacity and dry weight only 8 bikes are within this requirement and sort by oil change and dry weight it goes down to only 2 motorcycle. One you have to build.
Download the .xlsx file, add you own motorcycle, sort to your preferred needs.
For some it´s the seat height, for others it´s the engine power, the fuel tank size or the service interval.
